Terms of Service — Teachers

Last updated: March 2026 · Governing law: New York, USA

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating a teacher account or publishing a course on VideoArtSchool.com ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Teacher Terms of Service, as well as the Student Terms of Service. In the event of a conflict, these Teacher Terms take precedence.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create a teacher account. By agreeing to these Terms, you represent that you have the legal authority to enter into a binding agreement and that all information you provide is accurate and complete.

3. Teacher Subscriptions

Publishing courses on VideoArtSchool requires an active paid teacher subscription (Starter, Pro, or Studio plan). Subscription fees are billed annually. If your subscription lapses or is canceled, your published courses will be hidden from the public until your subscription is renewed. Student enrollments and course data are retained during the lapse.

Teacher subscription fees are non-refundable except where required by applicable law.

4. Revenue Share and Payouts

VideoArtSchool retains 20% of all paid course sales as a platform fee. Teachers receive 80% of each sale. Payouts are processed after a 7-day holding period from the date of purchase to allow for refund and chargeback resolution. Payouts are transferred to your connected Stripe account.

You are responsible for all taxes applicable to your earnings, including income tax and self-employment tax. VideoArtSchool does not withhold taxes on your behalf. You may receive a 1099-K from Stripe if your earnings meet applicable reporting thresholds.

5. Stripe Connect Requirement

To sell paid courses, you must connect a valid Stripe account via Stripe Connect. You agree to comply with Stripe's Connected Account Agreement. VideoArtSchool is not responsible for any issues arising from your Stripe account, including holds, restrictions, or account terminations by Stripe.

6. Course Exclusivity

Courses published on VideoArtSchool must be exclusive to the Platform. You may not offer the same course content on other online course marketplaces (e.g., Udemy, Skillshare, Teachable) while it is published on VideoArtSchool.

You are permitted and encouraged to:

  • Promote your courses on social media and share direct links to your VideoArtSchool course pages.
  • Advertise your VideoArtSchool courses on your personal website or blog.
  • Create and distribute free preview content (trailers, excerpts) to attract students.

VideoArtSchool reserves the right to remove courses found to be in violation of this exclusivity requirement without refund of subscription fees.

7. Content Standards

You agree that all course content you publish on VideoArtSchool will:

  • Be original work you own or have explicit rights to use and distribute.
  • Be accurately described in your course title, description, and preview materials.
  • Not infringe any third-party copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights.
  • Not contain false, misleading, defamatory, or harmful information.
  • Not include adult, explicit, or offensive material of any kind.
  • Meet a reasonable standard of production quality (clear audio, legible visuals).

VideoArtSchool reserves the right to remove any course that violates these standards, with or without prior notice, at our sole discretion.

8. Refunds and Chargebacks

VideoArtSchool operates a 30-day student refund policy (see Student Terms). When a student is issued a refund, the corresponding teacher payout for that order will not be processed or will be reversed if it has already been transferred. Teachers are not responsible for legitimate refunds within the policy window.

In the event of a chargeback initiated by a student with their bank or card issuer, VideoArtSchool is responsible for responding to the dispute. However, if a chargeback results from fraudulent content, misrepresentation, or other teacher misconduct, VideoArtSchool reserves the right to recover the disputed amount from future payouts.

9. Intellectual Property

You retain ownership of all course content you create. By publishing on VideoArtSchool, you grant the Platform a non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, display, stream, and promote your course content for the purpose of operating the Platform and marketing your courses to prospective students. This license remains in effect while your course is published and terminates when you remove the course from the Platform.

10. Account Suspension and Termination

VideoArtSchool reserves the right to suspend or terminate your teacher account if you:

  • Violate any provision of these Terms.
  • Publish content that is inaccurate, harmful, or infringes third-party rights.
  • Engage in fraudulent activity or manipulation of reviews and ratings.
  • Fail to maintain an active subscription in good standing.

Upon termination, any pending payouts for completed, non-refunded sales that have passed the 7-day holding period will be processed. Payouts for disputed or refunded orders will be forfeited.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts located in New York.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance. We will make reasonable efforts to notify teachers of material changes via email with at least 14 days' notice before changes take effect.
